  7. Agrega la calabaza, revuelve bien. Deja de preferencia unas 24 horas. Esto es para que endurezcan los pedazos de calabaza y que al cocinarlos no se desbaraten. Revuelve de vez en cuando.
  8. Pasado ese tiempo, lava perfectamente cada pieza. Que queden muy limpias, sin rastro de cal.
  9. Con algo puntiagudo, pica cada pieza varias veces, para que penetre el azúcar. Mi abuelo lo hacía con una espina de penca de maguey.
  10. Pon la calabaza en una olla. Agrega el azúcar y 4 tazas de agua.
  11. Prende a fuego alto hasta que empiece a hervir.
  12. Luego a fuego lento, por más o menos dos horas. Con mucho cuidado y muy de vez en cuando menea.
  13. En este punto ten mucho cuidado para que no se peguen. Aquí ya están listos.
  14. Con cuidado sácalos y ponlos separados unos de otros. Espera a que se enfríen. Exquisitos!!!! Gracias ABUELO!!!
